Job Title: Evening Porter
Schedule: Evening Shifts (typically 4pm–10pm or as needed)
Reports to: Facilities Manager / Supervisor
Position Overview:
The Evening Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the facility during evening hours. This includes general cleaning, light maintenance tasks, restocking supplies, and supporting closing procedures. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in common areas and restrooms, destroying cob webs, maintaining equipment and systems
Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners
Wipe down and sanitize surfaces (tables, counters, door handles, etc.)
Clean and restock restrooms regularly
Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and paper goods
Perform light maintenance tasks (changing light bulbs, minor repairs)
Assist with end-of-day shutdown procedures and ensure facility is secure
Respond promptly to any cleaning or maintenance requests during shift
Maintain safety standards and report any hazards or damages
Qualifications:
Previous janitorial or porter experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, lifting, standing)
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Punctual, dependable, and professional
